Plesiosaurus, extinct marine reptiles belonging to the Order Plesiosauria, were characterized by their broad flat bodies, short tails, long necks, small heads, and four large flippers or paddles. These creatures, commonly thought to have been fish eaters, are among the best-described organisms of the Jurassic Period, with their fossils found on Morocco, often as complete skeletons. Plesiosaurus, a notable member of this group, was a large marine sauropterygian reptile known for its small head, long slender neck, and two pairs of large paddles or fins. These predators primarily preyed upon Belemnites and fish, giving live birth in open water. With their necks comprising half their length, roughly twice the size of a grown man, they were formidable creatures of the ancient seas.
